Padrões e sobreposição de atividade de mamíferos terrestres de médio e grande porte na Estação Ecológica Municipal Cachoeirinha, Boa Ventura de São Roque (estado do Paraná, Brasil)

O padrão de atividade fornece informações sobre como e quando os animais realizam atividades básicas, permitindo identificar a cronologia e as interações realizadas com o ambiente e outros animais. Nosso objetivo foi avaliar o padrão de atividade de mamíferos de médio e grande porte na Estação Ecológica Municipal Cachoeirinha (EEMC) no estado do Paraná, sul do Brasil. Também comparamos os padrões de atividade com as atividades de cães domésticos para verificar se há sobreposição de suas atividades. Os dados foram coletados entre julho de 2017 e março de 2019. O esforço de amostragem foi de 2.135,04 dias de armadilhas fotográficas, e avaliamos os padrões de atividade de 14 espécies de mamíferos nativos e o cão doméstico. Nossos resultados indicaram que mais de 21% das espécies apresentaram atividades catemerais, mais de 35% mostraram preferência por atividades durante o dia e mais de 40% apresentaram hábitos noturnos. No entanto, quatro espécies mostraram uma sobreposição maior com cães, tornando-as mais vulneráveis a interações negativas. Avaliar os padrões de atividade de espécies exóticas em áreas protegidas é necessário para compreender as interações entre mamíferos nativos e invasores. Essas informações são cruciais para implementar ações de mitigação de curto prazo visando controlar populações de espécies invasoras. Assim, nossos dados podem contribuir para ações voltadas para mitigar o impacto de espécies invasoras na biodiversidade da EEMC.
